Healing ~ Medical Qigong Practice
After 3 years of training, I have a Master of Medical Qigong degree from the International Institute of Medical Qigong through Lisa VanOstrand’s Three Treasures Healing in New York.
Medical Qigong (also called Healing Qigong and Chinese Energywork) is another branch of TCM/Traditional Chinese Medicine (along with Herbology, Acupuncture and Tui Na Massage). It is a very gentle, energy (Qi) based healing practice. The client relaxes on a massage table in comfortable clothing and may be asked to make soft sounds or image visualizations while the therapist works with them.
Medical Qigong accesses a client’s physical, emotional and energy systems to support and foster deep relaxation and healing. Qi stagnation is cleared, new energy is brought in to revitalize, balance and nurture. Stress and anxiety can diminish and sleep improve… Chronic situations can clear and old issues can be approached differently. Medical Qigong works best over a series of sessions… The body or mind may return to old habits after one session, but as the treatments continue, change enters and possibilities multiply.
At the core of Chinese Medicine is the belief that healing happens in our whole life… So in my practice, I help clients look at what may be undermining their powerful natural healing capacities… And then shift diet, stress, sleep (or lack of it) and emotional tendencies that may obstruct their health and happiness.
Take a look at my “Tao for Body, Mind & Spirit” page for more information on what my Healing Practice offers clients.
